Commuter Needs Study
- Details
The Central Virginia Planning District Commission, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (VDRPT), is conducting a Commuter Needs Assessment. The Assessment will identify commuting patterns, challenges, and interest/opportunities in using all modes – carpooling, biking, walking, transit, single vehicle – to access resources in the region. In addition, it will serve as the Commuter Assistance Program's Strategic Plan, which outlines the programs activities, goals and objectives.
A Steering Committee, comprised of state and local staff, as well as local stakeholders, has guided the development of this assessment. In addition, a commuter survey was conducted in April-May (2024) to get feedback from the public. The survey results will be available for review, along with a draft document in Fall of 2024.
