Participate in the public webinar on proposed transportation priorities for the region.

The Central Virginia Transportation Planning Organization (CVTPO) in in the process of updating the region’s Long-Range Transportation Plan, which will identify and prioritize transportation needs in the area for the next twenty-five years (out to 2045). The plan covers the counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, and the City of Lynchburg.

Last updated five years ago, the current Long-Range Plan prioritized a number of high-profile projects that have been funded and are being designed, including much-anticipated improvements to the intersection of US 221 and US 501. The Long-Range Plan is a critical part of anticipating growth areas, determining how the region values various types of projects, and balancing safety, quality of life, the environment, and economic development.

Public participation is critical to the success of this plan, and members of the community are invited to learn about the plan and the proposed list of top 30 ranked transportation projects in the region. The information session will be held in an online format on Tuesday June 30 at 5:30 p.m. For information on how to participate, visit www.connectcentralvirginia2045.com.
