CVPDC’s Alec Brebner Re-Elected VAMPO Chair

The Virginia Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (VAMPO) convened its annual meeting at the offices of PlanRVA on June 22, 2026. The VAMPO Board of Directors elected Alec Brebner, representing the Central Virginia Transportation Planning Organization, to a second consecutive two-year term. Also re-elected were 1st Vice-Chair Pavithra Parthasarathi of the Hampton Roads TPO, 2nd Vice-Chair Ian Ollis of the Fredericksburg Area MPO, 1st Secretary/Treasurer Taryn Logan of the Winchester-Frederick MPO, and 2nd Secretary/Treasurer Micah Bray of the Bristol MPO.

The General Assembly created VAMPO effective July 1, 2009, through House Joint Resolution No. 756 to provide education, information, and opportunities for cooperation among Virginia’s Metropolitan Planning Organizations and among state, federal, and community officials. VAMPO provides professional development for membership and liaises with the Commonwealth Transportation Board and its staff.

The CVPDC houses Greater Lynchburg’s MPO, the federally designated transportation planning organization. The CVTPO is responsible for planning, policy, project prioritization, and transportation improvements programming for the city of Lynchburg, the town of Amherst, Madison Heights, Concord, New London, Forest, and vicinity.
