CVPDC is announcing its partnership with Virginia Housing to advance affordable housing in the region.
Virginia Housing, through it’s REACH Virginia program has made available $40 million in grants to Virginia’s PDCs to develop new affordable housing across the Commonwealth. The CVPDC is excited to be included in the program and has been awarded $2 million, to be used over the three-year grant program, to partner with area housing groups, non-profits, developers, and other stakeholders to develop affordable, workforce housing. Kim Callis, president of the Virginia Association of Planning District Commissions noted, “With this initiative, Virginia’s PDCs will be able to develop or enhance their own collaboration with regional and local organizations to help meet a critical housing need.” Virginia Housing is a self-supporting agency and receives no state taxpayer dollars to support its programs.
