CVPDC says goodbye to Scott Smith after more than fourteen years of service.
The CVPDC is saying farewell to Scott Smith, Transportation Planning Director, to the CVTPO/CVPDC. Smith has worked for the CVPDC 14 years, during which time he has contributed to almost every program planning area. From Altavista’s downtown redevelopment, waterline and sidewalk infrastructure installation in Amherst Town, housing rehabilitation in Amherst County, managing the development of the 2018 Region 2000 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), executing wayfinding signage within Appomattox County, Altavista and Brookneal, to most recently the completion of the Central Virginia Long Range Transportation Plan – 2045. Scott has been a valuable contributor to the region.
Scott, his wife Emily, and son Carter are moving to Columbia, Missouri where Emily has begun a Doctoral program at the University of Missouri. We wish Scott and his family well in their new home and future endeavors. Our loss will be Columbia Missouri area’s gain.
