The Central Virginia Planning District Commission conducted its annual election of officers at its regular summer meeting, July 17, 2025.
Amherst Mayor Dwayne Tuggle (pictured above at left) returns as Chairman for Fiscal Year 2026, a role he held most recently in Fiscal Year 2023. Then, as now, Appomattox Mayor Richard Conner (pictured above at right) served as Vice-Chairman. Amherst Town Manager Sara McGuffin was elected the CVPDC’s Treasurer for the year, which runs from July 2025 to July 2026.
In addition to his roles locally and regionally, Mayor Tuggle is the President of the Virginia Association of Planning District Commissions and the President-Elect of the Virginia Municipal League. Central Virginia is fortunate to have such a committed leader!
