program helps employers offset costs while building a stronger workforce

We are excited to announce the recent award of $828,165 in Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) funding to the Town of Altavista for the Mosley Heights Revitalization Project.

This project was one of 25 projects selected by the Commonwealth to receive more than $18 million in CDBG funding, which will be used to support projects that rehabilitate housing, revitalize downtown districts, and improve water and sewer infrastructure for Virginians.

Mosley Heights

The Mosley Heights Revitalization Project will substantially reconstruct two owner-occupied units, rehabilitate six owner-occupied units, and demolish one blighted structure in the historic Mosley Heights neighborhood of Altavista. All 8 households to be assisted have low to moderate incomes. The grant funding will be used to embark on a multi-phased process to address identified needs and issues in the community from meetings and assessments, with the hope of improving living conditions and the quality of life within the community.

CVPDC staff will assist the Town with project implementation. For more information about the project, please contact Jefrado Granger at jefrado.granger@cvpdc.org. For more information on the CDBG program, visit https://www.dhcd.virginia.gov/cdbg-community-improvement-grants.
