The Region 2000 Workforce Development Board and Region 2000 Workforce Council have approved the revised and updated Strategic Plan for Workforce Development Initiatives guided by a new mission and vision.
The mission of the Region 2000 Workforce Development Board is:
To provide the primary connection between our two customers—businesses and jobseekers—ensuring demand is met with a highly-qualified supply of applicants
The vision of our Strategic Plan is to develop “A customer-focused workforce system that supports regional prosperity through efficiently developing the talents of individuals to meet the employment needs of our region”.
Goals of the Plan include:
- Develop highly qualified applicants
- Meet the employment needs of the region
- Build partnerships for career pathways to employment
- Incorporate technologies to improve services to businesses and applicants
- Be the organizational catalyst to the Regional Workforce system
- Effectively communicate workforce services

Currently, the Workforce Board is preparing for the release of a request for proposals (RFP) to secure operators for the One-Stop system, the adult and dislocated worker programs and the youth program. The RFP will be presented to the Workforce Board at their April 11 meeting for review and approval. The Workforce Board is committed to ensuring that citizens throughout the region have access to quality career development and employment services.
