The Town of Pamplin has one water tank to serve 117 families and businesses connected to the public water system. Installed in 1978, that tank needs to be refurbished and the Town has secured funding from the Virginia Department of Health to paint the tank and to install chemical feed systems for the water system.
Gary Christie from the Local Government Council has worked with the Town to develop a business plan for the Water System that models financial revenues and expenditures for a five-year projection and collects and identifies standard operating procedures that currently exist and that need to be developed.
The Local Government Council assisted the Town in procuring Hurt and Proffit to do the engineering work on the project and will do the Davis-Bacon reporting once construction starts.
The Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project in Roanoke has committed funding support for this project.
