Amherst County has been awarded a multi-year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), at $700,00 for multi-year 1 and $10,624 for multi-year 2, from the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (VDHCD) to continue community revitalization within the Old Town Madison Heights (OTMH) community.
The Main Street Revitalization Project is a comprehensive revitalization project that will transform Main Street, the entry corridor into this historic neighborhood, through housing rehabilitation, relocation of telephone and power poles, retaining wall replacement, drainage improvements, and blight removal. Phase 1, or multi-year one, will begin in early 2018.
