Teams of leaders from across the region have been meeting to complete the Region 2000 Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Implementation Plan, or five-year roadmap to implement projects, programs, and partners that will “advance the economic vitality” of our region.

The Region 2000 CEDS, completed in November 2017, is the reginal vision plan for our region. The CEDS Implementation Plan is the supporting strategy-based document to advance the five goals and eleven initiatives identified in the CEDS. Six teams, or Initiative Councils, have been established to identify projects, programs, and partners to advance the five goals and eleven initiatives identified in the CEDS.  Included in the activities is the establishment of metrics which to gauge success. A copy of the full CEDS document and a description of each Initiative Council is available at:

CEDS Region 2000 Vision Plan

The Draft CEDS Implementation Plan is being developed by the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance (LRBA) and Region 2000 Local Government Council and overseen by the CEDS Steering Committee, appointed business, government, education, non-profit and civic leaders. The Draft is anticipated to be completed and ready for public comment in early spring 2018.
