The Region 2000 Local Government Council and the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance and 35 community leaders collaborated during 2016 to update the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. http://www.localgovernmentcouncil.org/ceds.html
The LGC received a $50,000 grant from the Federal Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration and matched the grant with $50,000 in cash and in-kind services. Market Street of Atlanta led the committee through the re-write of the 2013 plan.
Committees and work groups focusing on the specific goals identified in the plan are now being formed to implement the recommendations.
