In Region 2000 partnered with DEQ to develop a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL), or water quality study, to identify sources of feE.coli bacteria contamination within a portion of Beaver Creek, and its tributaries, which drain from portion of Campbell County. The TMDL study developed an  E.coli  bacteria load limit which the study section of Beaver Creek can hold and still meet water quality standards.

The firm Map Tech Incorporated, from Blacksburg, VA, was hired to develop the scientific modeling and assessment and lead the public input and outreach input that resulted in the completed study.
