RIDE Solutions, a regional alternative transportation program, offers free alternative transportation services – carpool matching, vanpools, biking, transit and Emergency Ride Home program - to expand commuter options throughout the CVPDC and in the surrounding area. RIDESolutions is a service of CVPDC, Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission, New River Valley Regional Commission, and West Piedmont Planning District Commission and is funded by a grant from the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation and through CVPDC locality contribution.
Our free program is available to all residents and commuters in the Central Virginia PDC area (City of Lynchburg and the Counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Campbell and Bedford), and the communities serviced by the Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission, New River Valley Regional Commission, and West Piedmont Planning District Commission.
